Autism Assessment
Support that grows with you.
We offer comprehensive autism assessments for children, youth, and adults who are seeking clarity about whether they may be on the autism spectrum. These assessments explore developmental, behavioral, and emotional functioning and are designed to provide a deeper understanding of individual needs and strengths.
At Dr. Sala & Associates, we understand that autism is just one part of a person’s overall experience. That’s why we offer comprehensive psychological assessments for both children and adults, designed to look beyond the diagnosis. These evaluations provide insight into cognitive functioning, learning styles, emotional well-being, and co-occurring concerns, helping individuals and families better understand strengths and needs across home, school, work, and community life.
What Is an Autism Assessment?
This is a thorough diagnostic process that explores whether someone may meet the criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The goal is to offer insight into developmental history, communication, behavior, and social-emotional functioning—helping you or your family better understand what’s going on and what can help.
Our autism assessments include:
- Clinical interviews with parents/caregivers (for children/youth)
- Direct interaction and observation with the individual being assessed
- Psychoeducational testing, where appropriate
- Social-emotional and adaptive functioning evaluation
- Standardized tools (such as the ADOS-2, where appropriate)
- Questionnaires from home, school, or other relevant environments
- A detailed written report with results and personalized recommendations
- A feedback session to review findings and next steps
This Assessment May Be Right for You If:
- You’re noticing signs that you or your child may be on the autism spectrum
- You’ve been referred for an autism assessment by a physician, school, or other provider
- You’re seeking a better understanding of differences in communication, behavior, emotional regulation, or sensory experiences
- You want clarity and guidance on what supports may help
